As the outermost abrasive layer wears down, the cloth backing frays to expose fresh abrasive layers for continued cutting action. 3M™ Cartridge Roll 341D has a closed coat of aluminum oxide abrasive secured with a heat-resistant resin bond. Cartridge rolls fit onto a cartridge roll mandrel (sold separately) and are ideal for accessing small, hard to reach spaces. 3M™ Cartridge Roll 341D is used in metalworking applications. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly.
